The Sutherland Shire has plenty of development ahead and you may have noticed that in some areas you expect and even in some areas you wouldn’t there are large residential unit complexes either being built or in the process of getting council approval to be built.
Over the next 3 years we can expect thousands of new residential units to be built over dozens of different new complexes within the Sutherland Shire in suburbs like Kirrawee, Gymea, Miranda and Cronulla.
What sort of impact will this have on our local community? There will be the obvious increased strain on roads and transport, lack of suitable parking and possibly an increase in crime. However, Local businesses will take advantage of a higher concentration of people flooding into our area bringing with them increased sales and work for our local grocers, electricians, plumbers, bakers and more.
With thousands of extra units in the Shire, will current unit selling prices be affected? That is just something we will have to find out. At the moment there is still strong demand for older style units in preexisting blocks as they tend to have lower strata fees and in some cases built to a higher quality.
